Frequently Asked Questions

What is ESS and why is it so important for solar?

ESS is an abreviation for Energy Storage System.

It is a critical component of renewable energy.

For years ESS was very expensive and many solar providers didn’t even provide or suggest it to Clients. We are here to change that.

Can I trust the quality of your equipment?

We work directly with the manufactures of our equipment.

We spent over two years forging relationships and agreements with only the world’s best companies in the renewable energy sector.

These companies are top tier multi-billion dollar bankable brands such as Canadian Solar, Schneider Electric, Enphase, Growatt and Tesla.

What happens to Solar Panels when its cloudy or raining?

We use the world’s best rated solar panels which can still operate on rainy days and in lower light conditions.

The amount of energy produced is not as high as when they are in full sunlight, however they do not shut off entirely as is the case with many older panels.

Here are some common questions that can help you start the easy journey to Energy Independence.

Can solar provide for all of my energy consumption?

Solar + Energy Storage can provide up to 100% and beyond your regular energy needs (Most of the time). In the past, this was not possible due to technological limitations and high battery costs. Solar alone can provide you with 100% of your energy needs if you have an appropriatley sized Energy Storage System (ESS). As an additional precaution you can use the local grid as a backup support system in emergency situations

I would love to invest in solar, but I think my roof is too old. Am I out of luck?

we can visit your property and make a manual inspection of your roof structure at no cost to you. If we determine that your roof needs further analysis we can preform a full structural analysis to ascertain it’s load capacity. Many times if the roof  is structurally strong enough for panels, we can proceed with an installation. If it is not our construction division will be able to help you repair your roof.

Would it make sense to go solar if we use most of our energy at night?

Yes absolutely! A full solar energy system includes solar panels, inverters and batteries. Our fill hybrid systems will allow you to gain the benefit of solar energy 24hrs a day. Many companies offer only grid-tied systems, solar batteries that are similar ro car batteries or extremely high prices on their battery system.

We offer battery systems or ESS (Energy Storage Systems) that are comparable to the well known Tesla batteries sold across the US.

Ourn ESS’ are many times 30-50% less in size, 40% less in cost with the same 10-12 year warranty and power ratings.

What is a Hybrid Inverter?

A hybrid inverter is a smart inverter that sends surplus power to a battery system to be store for self-consumption. Hybrid inverters function like normal grid-tied solar inverters but can operate in one of several different modes depending on your choice. A common use of this type of inverter is the backup mode which provides certain levels of backup power in the event of a blackout, It can also store the excess energy into the battery during the peak of the day and then return that energy to the home or business during the evening or when solar energy is not available. Most hybrid inverters can also operate without a battery and function just like a grid-tie solar inverter by exporting excess solar energy to the utility grid. The best thing about Hybrid inverters is that it gives the owners options and a greater degree of freedom regarding their energy generation, use, and deployment. We suggest Hybrid inverters in every situation possible because it provides the entire solar solution, unlike grid-tied systems.

Can I afford solar + energy storage?

We have multiple financing options for you. We have a solution for every type of system and financial level. Plus, the cost of our systems is based on the manufacturing market, not the competitive North American market. This allows our costs to be accessible to a wider range of clients and still provide the highest quality equipment in the world.

Why might there be delays in the installation of my solar system?

We understand that timely installation is important to you. While we aim to complete your system within the timeframe outlined in your contract, some factors can occasionally cause unforeseen delays.

To provide you with the best possible value, we source our equipment directly from manufacturers. This direct approach cuts out middleman costs, saving you money upfront and maximizing your long-term return on investment. However, it also means our equipment may sometimes be subject to delays associated with overseas shipping.

Potential causes for these delays include:

Global events: Geopolitical instability, economic downturns, and unexpected health crises (like pandemics) can all impact manufacturing and shipping timelines.

Transportation disruptions: Shipping delays, port congestion, and border closures can also affect the timely delivery of your equipment.

Natural disasters: Events like hurricanes, earthquakes, and floods can disrupt supply chains and transportation routes.

While we strive to minimize these potential delays, they are sometimes unavoidable due to the nature of international shipping. We appreciate your understanding and patience as we work to deliver and install your high-quality, cost-effective solar system.

Key takeaway: By buying directly from the factory, we pass significant savings on to you, but it can sometimes mean slightly longer wait times. We believe the long-term benefits outweigh the potential for occasional delays.

Rest assured, we‘ll keep you informed throughout the process and work diligently to get your system up and running as quickly as possible.

Why Waiting to Go Solar Could Cost You ThousandsThere’s an old saying that goes, “The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second-best time is now.” The same wisdom applies to solar energy. Every day you wait to switch to solar, your roof continues to sit...
